Sydney, Australia Spring 2011: Day 5 Bondi Beach

It's Day 5! Last day in Sydney for me & Jess then we'll be flying over to gold coast for crazy theme parks etc!

We actually booked a session of hang gliding, all paid and stuff already, I was CRAZY excited for this because i thought this would be one of the highlights of the trip aside from surfing.






Well we were suppose to call in the morning to check with the hang gliding centre regarding the wind situation for that day, afterall hang gliding is ALL about the wind direction etc.. called them when we woke up and so upset to hear that the wind situation is not optimum for hang gliding that day, sigh.

And we weren't able to postpone the session either since it's out last day in sydney. Boo!








Look at this! So damn cool, unlike sky diving which is around the same price AUD200+ to AUD300 the whole falling process is only like what, 5 mins tops?

Hang gliding you just glide along with your instructor and stay up in the air for around 30 mins!





So since our hang gliding plans were off, decided to go to the CBD instead but after we had brunch at a cafe just along bondi beach, we wanted to go check out bondi beach although it was FREEEEEZING despite the good weather the day before when i was surfing and all.
















Cold like a shit seriously. I just sat there and didn't wanna move forever because the winter wind wouldn't stop blowing and it's so much colder just standing up.

Crazy cold, i seriously don't know how she can take the cold and still run around so damn high and happy lol so Zai!

I'm wear so many layers, two pairs of leggings under my Zara PVC leather pants, boots, 2 layers of top and leather jacket and my teeth are still like constantly chattering.

Had lunch at this cute little cafe along bondi beach called Moo Burgers



They serve the yummiest milkshakes! ♥

Walked around bondi and found a cute little playground nearby the residential area, how i wish i have a house or even an apartment on bondi, so i can be there in spring, summer and totally enjoying my life man.

Jessica got to know this dude when she was buying something at 7-11, he works at 7-11 and he said he has a beachfront house at bondi, and he's working at 7-11.

That's cool man. so basically he's just really working for fun. What a good good life.

The sun was setting so it was some seriously awesome lighting there, but i'm looking pretty wtf cos i think my falsies came unstuck so i pulled them off and stuff. LOL




I miss you bondi beach! Heh, luckily i came back to bondi beach for 2.5 days after gold coast because i gotta fly back to singapore from Sydney.

Bondi beach is really.. really beautiful in spring man. I love it and i wanna go back again when spring comes. Truly beautiful and breathtaking. Will blog about those after my gold coast posts! (:

yum cha with Nic

Woohooooo! Went for Yumcha with Nicholas awhile ago, haha knew him from the New York Skin Solution's photoshoot where i was doing styling for them a couple months back.

We're both fickle-minded/tummy piggies! Hahahah so yeah we were driving around and changing our minds about foodie places like for so long before i drove past chinatown and we were like "YUMCHA!!!!"

Mosaic Dance

To be honest, I've always had very bad hand-leg co-ordination lol.

My dance experience: a couple of years of Ballet when i was young, go clubbing anyhow shake shake dance dance, weekly dance practice with JMD at NYP years ago, lol pussycat doll - don't cha! performance for my ex company's D&D



Hohoho, so one of my resolutions for 2010 is to go to advance class for Salsa & not slack of from being active and healthy and go for Zumcardio classes every thursday at Mosaic Dance School!

I've tried out various beginner classes at Mosaic Dance since i joined them at the end of September 2011, tried West Coast Swing, Zouk, Salsa, and fitness classes such as Zumcardio, pilates.




So far i'm LOVING it. Especially Salsa and Zumcardio. Haahaahaha, was a little intimidated by my Salsa instructor, Gupson at first but I'm enjoying the pace of the class and his teaching style now.



By the way, the most common question i get from people is..

Q: Do i need a partner to learn all the social dance classes that Mosaic Dance has?

A: Nope! It's a social dance class! Heh, even if you go in a pair you'll rotate partners too, that's kinda the fun part, make friends! (:





I always go to classes alone too, just be friendly and open..

Zumcardio is SO fun! Ange, the Zumcardio instructor is super friendly and seems to be super high and constantly pumped with energy, every time during class when i feel damn shagged wanna die cannot move from all the cardio dancing, and i look at how energetic she is, it makes me wanna move and dance like crazy. hahahaha

I mean if you're like me, you wanna start being more active and do more cardio workouts but, to me running is SO boring, i love it that Ange choreographs a new cardio dance every week so every single week we're learning new stuff and working/focusing on a different parts of our body, like abs, flabby arms , thighs etc!




Other than the stay active, kill/burn fats factor..

Somehow it makes me feel better and much more confident about my own body, staring at my reflections of my body movements in the mirror during the 1 hour weekly zumcardio classes.

Hahaha always feel damn shiok after the one hour class, hot & sweaty from dance but always love my rosy complexion after a good workout! ♥




I hope Mosaic dance would eventually have more fitness classes like body combat etc!
*hint hint request* hahaha

Just booked my hair appointment with Zoe @ Bugis Essensuals tomorrow!
New year = New color!

Wondering what color i'm gonna do this time round, I seriously love my stylist Zoe!

My last cut was 2 -3+ months ago (Read it here: My first experience with Bugis Essensuals) and my hair still looks good and everyone loved and compliment my hair color, when it was freshly dyed in Rich deep purple and when it faded into the current pinkish brown. ♥





Should i chop off my fringe or keep it long? I've always like my fringe short but I'm starting to like it long but it annoys me half the time lol.

Help me decide!

It's kinda like my first time actually thinking and setting a resolution, hahah i wonder how long i can stick to it but.. must have faith in myself! :D

Ok so here's my very short and sweet list:

1. Find a job that i'm truly interested and passionate in.
2. Reach advance for my Salsa lesson
3. Continue gyming + zumcardio lessons etc and not slack off
4. Start to REALLY save money

Day 4 Surf Experience on Bondi Beach + Festival of the Wind

Ok so Jessica & I did all our planning and booking of theme park tickets/activity etc before we left for aussie so we wouldn't be left with no plans and having the hey “i don’t know what do you want to do today?” conversations. Get straight to the fun!

But the bad thing was, i guess we were too over enthusiastic in planning the trip we packed it sooooo tight like when we were in gold coast we had White Water World, Dream World, Movie World, Moreton Islands Snorkeling & Sand-boarding, all full day activities packed tight in 4days.

OMGOODNESS NO TIME TO BREATHE hahaha. So imagine 2 weeks of back to back jam packed activities, waking up for tours in the wee hours of the morning like 6am to prepare etc.

So when you plan a vacation longer than a week.. please remember to give yourself a break from all the day tours and crazy activities! lol. Sam, Jess and I ended up with a flu when we were in gold coast because we were too tired from having too much fun?! lol. Sounds nuts but yes it happens.









Ok so before Jessica confimed that she will be joining me in Sydney, i did some research in case i had to travel alone in Sydney and since the apartment we rented was at Bondi Beach...

One night i was damn high from all the planning i booked myself a 2 hour beginner, The Bondi Surf Experiences lesson on Bondi Beach via Let's Go Surfing ( http://letsgosurfing.com.au/ ) a surfing school highly recommended on TripAdvisor.

Sometimes i think I'm just plain reckless, get way too excited and lose my brains on the way. I didn't actually think that the period of time I'm in Sydney.. it's the end of winter about under 10 degrees, it's freezing for me and i don't exactly have a high tolerance for the cold, and i just committed to a $99 surf class because i just lost my brains.





Apart from freezing my ass off from being in the cold wintery waters for 2 hours (not that bad at all since we were decked out in wetsuits), having bruises all over from getting whacked by the surfboard from every angle when we got "flushed" to the shore, the instructors from Let's Go Surfing was awesome and i had SO much fun and i even got to stand up on my surfboard made me so proud of myself lol.

Lol so... Reckless = Awesome surf experience! :D
Not reckless = Fidel stay in beach apartment to avoid the cold and rot.


Oh and made friends with this korean dude at the surfing lesson, who was in aussie on a working holiday visa, have been curious about the whole working holiday visa experience so i pretty much bombarded him with tonnes of questions and he was very nice to walk me back to my apartment while we chatted
because he was worried I'd lose my way around bondi. Aww




Another tick on my must-do once in a lifetime list (I should do a post on this for my
New Year's resolution post) :

And thankfully it was a beautiful sunday at Bondi Beach with a little sun so it wasn't SOOOO cold and miserable.



Seriously just look at those clouds. Serious shit, no PS at all.

I don't think I've ever seen such awesome clouds in SG. lol or we're just too busy and stressed out in SG for such a simple luxury like just sitting down and relax.. stare in the sky and look at the clouds.



Luckily the people at Let's Go Surfing was really nice to let me postpone my lesson from thursday to sunday because i woke up on thursday morning and it was FREEZING like 5 degrees how the am i suppose to get into the water when it's soooo cold!?





Oh and i realized I was at Bondi at the right time! Coincidentally it was the Festival of The Winds, it's a once in a year event if I'm not wrong? Everyone, families.. couples.. friends would just gather at Bondi Beach lay out a picnic and.. everyone flies a kite. (:

Oh no to mention the weekly Sunday Bondi Markets. Lots of interesting things to see too.

There were load of these humongous kites in shapes of killers whales etc, jessica would've loved it! But since i had my surfing lesson that morning, she was at the Rocks Markets (wanted to check out but no chance to) with Kew!

So sad i didn't have my camera with me since i didn't want to bring any valuables to the surfing class because you gotta deposit your bags at the surfing school and they didn't have lockers, these photos were taken with my iphone4. At least they weren't too scrappy eh? Hahaha.



New korean friend walked me back to my apartment and i went to shower etc and out of the apartment again to hunt for food! Lol surfing drained all the energy from me. Just wanted a quick meal so i can rush to check out the Bondi Market before it closes, so i had hot tom yum soup sooooo nice in the cold weather.

Was just walking around having bites of fairy floss and exploring the area and look what i saw!!!

I wanna be a kid at that moment too, i don't remember ever riding a pony or a horse! (ok one more thing to be added to my Must-do in a lifetime list: Horse Riding)

The sun was setting and people have been flying kites all day!

It's so awesome how enthusiastic they are? Plan and event call Festivals of the Wind and everyone just turns up and fly a kite and fill the skies with beautiful colors. How awesome is that. But i wish singaporeans are more like this, more enthusiastic and fun. I wish singapore had the perfect awesome cooling weather and gorgeous beaches. I Wish, I Wish, I Wish.




Just sat down at a random grass patch, nomming on my fairy floss and people watching.






Another awesome day in Aussie.




Sun was setting and it was getting a little more chilly, Jess was still in the CBD with Kew so i settled down at San Churros to have a hot chocolate and Churros with choc dip!








Yums! Not enough cinnamon sugars thou!
